This course is designed to boost your IT confidence and is suitable for individuals with little previous experience. It is also appropriate as a follow-on from Computers for the Terrified.
You will develop your IT skills, gaining knowledge of industry standard software, Microsoft Office. You will gain more confidence through practically based tasks and the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
The qualification has a core unit (File Management and e-Document Production) and then you will require two additional units for the Certificate or four additional units for the Diploma. Units include:

Mondays 13.30 - 15.30
Tuesdays 10.00 - 12.00 and 18.00 - 21.00
Wednesdays 13.30 - 15.30 and 18.00 - 21.00
Thursdays 10.00 - 12.00
Students will work through textbooks at their own pace with a tutor present for support when required.
It may be possible to use the training room at other times, but there will not be a tutor available for support.
OCR Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (CLAIT 2006) or the OCR Level 1 Diploma for IT Users (CLAIT 2006)
For three or five of the units, depending on Certificate or Diploma, you will be assessed by OCR set practical assignments. You can complete the assignments when you feel ready to.
Each unit normally requires 10 to 15 hours study.
No, however you may wish to use some time at home to practice the skills you have learnt in class. Alternatively you can use the computers at e-Pewsey to practice.
