Who is the course for?
This course is designed to boost your confidence in maths skills This course is for you if you feel you have missed out on learning and want to brush up on your skills. It is also suitable for foreign nationals who would like a UK qualification.
What does the course aim to do?
Help you improve your maths. You can join at any time during the year and work towards a qualification. You can start at any level from beginner to level 2.
What will be covered?
Students will develop their skills through a range of methods including practical activities, worksheets, games or individual tasks.
The course includes:

- Ratio and proportion
- Estimation
- Fractions, decimals and percentages
- Using a calculator effectively
- Problems based around time
- Metric and imperial measures
- Mental maths activities
- Volume, area and perimeter
- Average, median, range and mode of data
- Reading graphs, charts, tables, etc
- Drawing graphs, charts and tables

What are the final qualifications?
City and Guilds Entry Level Certificate in Numeracy OCR tests in Literacy at Level 1 and 2
How will I be assessed?
Students are assessed by completing an online test when they feel ready.
Will I have to study at home?
Your tutor may give you homework to help you practice your skills.
