Staff at the PACT Centre have helped several individuals and groups to create websites and get a web presence.
Jan Grafton tutor of the 'Microsoft
Live Basics' course helped 6 learners complete their own website. Microsoft
Live is an online tool which allows users to easily create a professional
web site. The simple interface can be used by complete beginners and more
experienced computer users alike. Best of all Microsoft throw in a free
domain name and free web hosting. Users do however need a credit card to
obtain an account, the card is not charged when subscribing to the basic
package.

Dawn Miller has been helping local artists create ClikPic
sites. ClikPic is another online tool where sites can be created and managed
through a simple interface. ClikPic is designed especially with an artist
needs in mind and there are tools for creating online galleries. ClikPic
basic subscription costs £35 per annum and a domain can be purchased when
subscribing.
